Brush the dust off

I found some of my old Graphic Design work that I did at college and thought I would just post it since I do animation at University now and will rarely be uploading graphics work.

These are 2 pieces of conceptual art for seasonal Grafik magazine covers.

These are animals I created purely from typography.

Music Event Posters

These are a few posters I created for my courses end of year show which was based around our music videos we made. The class randomly decided to call it the Musical Fruit Bowl, do not ask why!

MY MUSIC VIDEO for Matt and Kims 'DAYLIGHT' (PROJECT)

For one of my projects at uni I had to create a music video for a professional client. I decided to use the upbeat song by Matt and Kim called 'DAYLIGHT'. Once I got the permission from the record label it was down to work to produce a full length music video. This was the longest animation I would have created at this time and was roughly 3 minutes long. I listened to the song many times to gather a great understanding of the lyrics and to interpret what it could be portraying. I eventually thought of an idea that I felt portrayed the meaning of the song. The concept of my story follows the moon through a surreal journey in space to reach the sun and get its own piece of daylight.

Meet the moon

This is the character within my music video who is noticeably the moon and who is also trying to reach the sun to get its own piece of daylight.

Concept art

These are a few piece of concept art that I did for my music video to understand the environment, ambience and composition of my animation. Once I had designed these I was looking forward to going ahead and creating my animation.

Animation stills

These are a few stills from my final music video for the professional musicians MATT AND KIMS and their song 'DAYLIGHT'.

THE UNCONVENTIONALS (PROJECT)

This is the closing scene for a new project I am working on at university, where we have to create a title sequence for a fictional show. My idea is based around a family of superheroes, well not superheroes, but people with special abilities, who have to try and fit into everyday society in the stereotypical suburban lifestyle of the 1960's.

Scenes within the animation

These are a few scenes from my title sequence for my fictional show. It shows each character in a different area of the house using their power in one way or another. I went for a retro 1960's genre for my idea so I gave it that kind of appearance and style using old rusty colours to give it that vintage look, but by also using furniture and styles from that time.

POEM (PROJECT)

This is the main character and a piece of concept art for my entirely cut out animation, based on the children's poem by Kenn Nesbitt, which I created in my first year of university. The poet himself has seen my animation and posted it on his site and Facebook page.

I'M NOT AFRAID OF THE DARK ANIMATION

I'm not afraid of the dark! HERE IS THE LINK!!!

This is my final animation for Kenn Nesbitt's poem I'm not afraid of the dark and has been featured on his site and Facebook. It was made purely from cut-out animation and was pieced together in After Effects.
